Our origin
Where it began
TEMPLAR CLUB started with one question: why does almost everything we buy carry an origin no one can trace? We wanted clothing whose entire route can be explained in one sentence — from yarn to box.
The first piece was a t-shirt with a black print on white cotton. No logo, no slogan on the chest, but a line on the back that says something. That's the shape it kept.
Why Europe is the starting point
Not out of sentiment, but because the chain stays short. The cotton is spun and dyed in Portugal, cut and sewn in the same region, printed in the Netherlands. An order rarely travels more than fifteen hundred kilometres before it lands on your mat.
Short chains are also checkable chains. We can visit every step, and we do. That's the only reason we dare say what's in the shirt.
“The print softens with washing, it doesn't wear out. That's not a promise, it's how water-based screen print behaves.”
How the pieces are made
220 g/m² combed cotton, straight cut, slightly dropped shoulder seam. The fabric is pre-washed, which keeps shrinkage after the first wash to about one percent. The print goes on in a single water-based layer; it sits in the fabric, not on top of it.
We work in runs of a few hundred pieces per colour. Enough to buy decently, little enough that nothing has to be thrown away.
What's still coming
A heavier winter quality, a second print series and loose archive prints on paper. All in the same order: fabric first, then cut, then the line on the back.
What isn't coming: seasonal collections chasing each other out, and discounts that only exist because the price was inflated first.
